Everyone's top 3 is redundant and boring. Favorite (and it's not because I'm related to him) is Martin Van Buren, for a number of reasons. Firstly, we got the expression OK from him (short for his nickname Old Kinderhook). Secondly, he created the Democratic-Republican party, and therefore created the two party system (before him is was just a bunch of Whigs). He always dressed very well, and was one of the first presidents to oppose slavery. Secondly, Andrew Jackson, we was an alcoholic who settled disputes with Duels. Enough said. Thirdly, Nixon. He declined a free ride to Harvard. He founded a fraternity based on watching football. He too was an alcoholic. He cursed constantly. He was environmentally friendly, as well as a supporter of oil conservation, as a republican. He hung out with Johnny Cash, Ben Stein wrote speeches for him, and he invited Elvis to the white house with a gun. Clearly they're all guys I'd like to have a drink with.
