Streets: LUDO (Paris)

Openings: Erik Sandberg – “Get Pretty Now” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Looks like Erik Sandberg’s hairy children are all grown up. His show Get Pretty Now opened alongside Ray Caesar’s solo (covered) at Jonathan LeVine Gallery last weekend featuring his colorful creatures created through his special mixed media technique. Teaser: Adam Wallacavage @ Choque Cultural (Brazil)

So, it looks like Adam Wallacavage is hard at work setting up for his show in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Choque Cultural. Here you can see the gallery from the back with one of his signature octopi chandeliers ready to go. London-based artist INSA recently recently paid San Francisco a visit and threw up a mural featuring his signature imagery. The man with a love for heels is in town getting ready for his show More at Fifty24SF, which is slated to open on February 3rd. LA Art Show: Murals from Andrew Hem, Chor Boogie, and Shark Toof

For several days while the Los Angeles Art Show was in town, Andrew Hem’s (interviewed), Chor Boogie, and Shark Toof were hard at work working on some large mural pieces. Interested attendees were treated to some extended live painting as each artist worked on some signature imagery for their enjoyment. Ryan McGinness – “Black Holes” Party @ Phillips de Pury

AM attended a special party at Phillips de Pury for Ryan McGinness’ Black Holes” exhibition last Friday night. After bringing you an indoor and outdoor view of this mind altering installation, it seemed only natural that McGinness Studios hosts an event that incorporates the human element into the already impressive show. Invitees were reminded to dress in white/bright clothing in order to interact with the black-lit backdrop. Openings: George Condo – “Mental States” @ New Museum

On Tuesday night AM attended the private opening of Mental States at the New Museum in New York. The exhibition is the first major US survey of works by George Condo with a over 80 paintings and sculptures spanning 1982 to current day by the adventurous and imaginative artist. Utilizing two floors of the spacious museum, Condo’s work was separated into multiple areas. Streets: Slinkachu – “The Last Resort”

Miniature photographer Slinkachu recently posted up a new street installation on his blog entitled The Last Resort. This piece is the first of many in a new body of work he is preparing for his solo Concrete Ocean at Andipa Gallery coming up in March. This will be his second show at the London gallery and if his last show there was any indication, fans will be treated to an intriguing mixture of new images and installations.
