Right after AM came back from Basel Week, we were visited by Belgium street artist ROA with whom we promptly hit the streets of New York with, specifically in Brooklyn. Initially, he focused his efforts in Factory Fresh’s neigborhood of Bushwick where he created some amazing works. Later in the week, we visited the industrial neighborhood of Gowanus and it’s wonderful graffiti adorned canal to scout out a few locations for some possible future urban beautifications.

It was very enlightening expedition for us as we braved near freezing temperatures and questionable terrain in search of structures that could serve as the next canvases for ROA’s impressive murals. At first, all we saw was broken down buildings and rundown junkyards. Then ROA reminded us to not look at what’s in front of us, but to also look up and take everything in. Just like that we found what we were looking for.

Check out his completed murals and what we found after the jump.
