This spring, when JR announced that his Ted Prize wish was to “Use Art to Turn the World Inside Out” he really wasn’t joking. Using people to participate is the key and the goal is to make this the world’s largest participatory art project and since this initiative began, portraits have reached citizens on almost every continent.

For review, the concept is simple. Go to the Inside Out website (here), upload your portrait so JR can send you a printout for you to wheatpaste to tell your story and make a change through this unique artistic expression. As you can see from the IO trailer above, the project is now viral. Going forward, JR and his crew will be releasing a monthly webisode on the Inside Out YouTube channel capturing this sweeping movement.
