Since the Gagosian Gallery opened a branch in Hong Kong earlier this year, some international heavy hitters like Damien Hirst and Richard Prince have already graced their walls with solo shows. For their most recent exhibition, which opened a couple weeks ago, a more local star, Zeng Fanzhi, was the feature attraction. The retrospective draws from work in the last 20 years with some pieces culled from the Chinese artist’s personal collection, tracing his career of exploring the human figure with his powerfully introspective paintings.
