Over the weekend, Corey Helford presented new work by artist Eric Joyner (interviewed). The exhibition featured a collection of paintings that blended the artist’s attraction to classic sci-fi motifs with a sense of the mundane which often referenced the use of donuts. Other competing factors in his visual imagery include the use of landscapes and the natural environment.

The work on hand is amazing to look at and feature a surreal combination of the fantastical and the average. The result is a collection of art that feels like a unique story is being told within each frame. One has to simply figure out how to connect the dots or even make some up along the way, but the journey into this artist’s world is definitely worthwhile.
