With Basel Week Switzerland coming to an end, here is a look at the Thinkspace Gallery booth at the SCOPE art fair. The showing focused on the works Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) and Esao Andrews with both artists continuing to show progression in their aesthetic. Kawasaki’s new paintings this time were solely created on dark backgrounds, something that not commonly seen in high numbers in one body of work, which contrasted nicely with her choice of vibrant colors to complement her seductive muses. Andrews’ inclusion of the female form in several of the pieces brought things to another level, especially when combined with his choice of palette and moody environments.
