Thursday night (August 1st) at Spoke Art, Scott Scheidly will expanding his ongoing pink portrait series with all new works for his debut solo show, The Pinks, with the gallery. As seen in his participation in ArtPadSF the Scope Art Fair, the Orlando-based painter explores the cultural and social implications of color and the associated preconceptions by re-imagining recognizable macho characters and infamous historical figures (i.e.: making a mockery of Ayatollah Khomeini, religious leader of a country that is well known for persecution of the LGBT community).
