Roq La Rue changed it up for this month’s opening. The works on display are from the personal collection of the Baxter family, who are selling some of their collection to move overseas. The pieces in question were collected over the past decade and represent a who’s who of the pop surrealism scene including Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Audrey Kawasaki, Camile Rose Garcia, Lori Earley, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Liz McGrath, Glenn Barr, Donald Roller Wilson, Kukula, Ana Bagayan, Fuco Ueda, Joe Sorren, Brian Despain, and Femke Hiemstra.

In addition to the art, the opening featured the music of the talented Roxanna Walitzki (seen above posing in front of a CRG painting with gallery owner Kirsten Anderson). Her operatic voice filled the gallery accompanied by a keyboard as an enthralled crowd looked on. One song from her performance can be scene here.
