KAWS certainly has had a busy schedule in the last couple of weeks with multiple openings that drew huge crowds. The Brooklyn-based artist in the last month or so has opened UPS AND DOWN at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City and a show at the PAFA in Philadelphia. On top of all these, he opened concurrent exhibitions at Mary Boone Gallery, which we covered here, and at Galerie Perrotin last weekend (November 2nd).

Here’s a recap of the exhibition entitled PASS THE BLAME at Perrotin’s latest space, which is inside the former Bank of New York Building, a 1932 landmark. The show attracted a large group of diverse enthusiasts, as well as celebrities like Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, and Pharrell. For the latest showing, KAWS continues to embrace both worlds of pop and abstraction as he continues to use the shapes of popular cartoon silhouettes as his canvases. If you’re in the Upper East Side area of New York, be sure to check it out in person. The exhibition is currently opened through December 21, 2013
