The last time we heard from Antony Micallef was in 2012 when he opened a solo show in London at The Outsiders. More recently, he contributed a biblically inspired painting to a group exhibition, Stations Of The Cross, held at a unique setting – the St Marylebone Parish Church. Produced by Art Below, and currently showing until April 17th to coincide with Lent, proceeds from the sales will go towards the Missing Tom Fund. In association with the show, billboards with the artwork were displayed throughout the London Underground although Micallef’s piece Kill Your Idol has been retracted and deemed inappropriate for public display – ironic as the original is being displayed inside a church.
