During January, our friends at Very Near Almost (VNA) invited us to come along on a visit to Swoon (interviewed) Brooklyn studio while they conducted an intimate photo shoot for their 25th issue. Swoon and her crew graciously opened up their sun-drenched Red Hook space and allowed us to watch them work on some upcoming projects. Typically, Swoon’s creative process involves a multitude of techniques, from hand cut lino blocks to drawings, delicate hand cut patterns to intricately sown finishings. There isn’t a detail that isn’t on her radar. The creative vibe was matched only by the staunch work ethic as each piece – whether slated to appear in a gallery or out on the street – is prepped with care.

Look out for VNA’s 25th issue featuring Swoon coming soon. And if you’re fortunate enough to be in New York this today (March 13th) from 6 – 9pm, stop by the Supra store for their NYC Takeover 2.0 (see 2013), as they will launch the issue with a host of goodies and limited goods.
