Last we heard from Ai Yamaguchi, it was 2012 and she was exhibiting her work in Hong Kong (covered). Come May 8th, the Japanese painter will again be in the spotlight with her first exhibition with the Joshua Liner Gallery and her first New York solo show since 2002. Entitled Shinchishirin, the title is a combination of words taken from ancient Japanese poems that collectively expresses” how the seeds of your heart get planted into the ground and grow into a forest of poetry.” Her depictions of feminine beauty, like the symbolic nature hair in her culture, will be sure to mesmerize her fans in the Big Apple.
