If you’re familiar with Oakland based Lauren Napolitano’s work, then her latest upcoming exhibition will be right up your alley. Known for her work using reappropriated materials as her canvas, Napolitano weaves intricate patterns on objects such as found photographs, animal skulls, vintage jars and bottles and reclaimed wood. Lauren was recently invited to undertake a residency by the St Vincent de Paul charity. For the past three months, she had access to a warehouse of donated items to select from and repurpose in her own unique style. The residency culminates in an exhibition of the work created during her term entitled Loyal. Catch the opening at Redux Gallery in Alameda on Friday, August 8th, and peep some preview images courtesy of the artist below.
