This Friday, November 7th, the Archimedes Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon (just west of Portland) will be opening a group show entitled Thoughts on a Grey Day. Participating artists including Josh Keyes (interviewed), Dan May, Blaine Fontana, Moki, Nicole Gustafsson, Patrick Maxcy, Melissa Hartley, Jaclyn Alderete, Paul Messink, Lori LaBissoniere, David Rice, Kazu Tabu, and Jacob Bond were asked to contribute artwork “inspired by a change of season, wandering thoughts, and the power of reflection.” Keyes in particular took stock of the recent rainy and overcast days in the area and painted this moose rain god, a continuation of his recent series depicting massive mythical creatures. He also contributed a piece that utilized his more familiar cubed environment imagery (seen below).
