This June, Blum & Poe will open a pop up gallery on Ibiza, showing exclusive new works by Takashi Murakami. The Japanese artist recently shared these in-progress photos showing his studio staff at Miyoshi Factory preparing the works.

Along with new large paintings, a few sculptures will be exhibited, including one that will be placed at the entrance of a newly constructed casino on the island. Since the deadline for this project was quite short, the team had to find a faster production solution for this piece. The answer was using a new technique with styrofoam sculpting and resin molds. This new approach was a bit of challenge for the artist, but being known as a perfectionist when it comes to his work, we’re sure the final result will be impressive.
