Currently (thru October 18th) at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Philip Haas has installed his larger than life sculptures that take Giuseppe Arcimboldo’s famous face portraits (made from fruits, vegetables, flowers) into the third dimension. Taking inspiration from the Renaissance painter’s The Four Seasons set of paintings, Haas has impressively recreated the characters in 360 degrees and at fifteen feet high and placed them on the south lawn of the museum. Make sure you head inside to check out the smaller scale models as well if you plan to visit.
