Starting on this Thursday, the Standard Hotel on The High Line will be be hosting new work from Jose Parla. Segmented Realities will be the Brooklyn-based artist’s first outdoor installation in New York and will consist of three two sided sculptural paintings that mirror the crumbling, graffiti covered walls that he sees and often documents on his travels. A similar selection of works was displayed in Cuba recently (seen above and below) and at the High Museum of Art last year (covered).

For those interested, if you are strolling the High Line, you can also stop at the Bryce Wolkowitz and Mary Boone galleries in Chelsea starting September 12th for Parla’s divided exhibition entitled Surface Body/Action Space.
