On Friday, the 20th of January, Format Artspace in Copenhagen will be opening a new exhibition by Carl Krull. Exclusively focused on five series of hand pulled silk-screen prints, Sediment will include new works that for first time in years include colors.

Through his simple and unique visual language, the Danish artist manages to get his images from the two-dimensional surface of the paper. His recognizable line work creates portraits and other imagery in an almost sculptural manner, with finished pieces reminiscent of topographic maps or tree rings. In his newest pieces, he layers the different color silkscreen prints on paper, achieving aneven stronger effect of multidimensionality. The multi-colored double exposures push his work further towards abstraction, while keeping the signature elements of hand drawn lines that form figurative imagery. The show will stay on view through March 11th.
