Recently in Venice, California, Faile (featured) completed an tile installation that wrapped around the facade of one of the housesoff a side street of Abbot Kinney (741 California Avenue). If you recall, the Brooklyn-based duo have worked with tiles before in some of their installations like the Faile Temple (covered). This new 16,000 piece from the two features twelve different motifs in a striking patchwork-like composition that captures cultural history of the area including imagery like a skateboard wheel & nut, Golden State Poppy, Venice Beach basketball court, wave & whale tail, and more. Take a look at more photos and schematic below but head by for a look yourself if you are interested.
