Openings: Steve More – ‘Subtraction’ @ Unruly Gallery

Edinburgh based Steve More recently opened his solo exhibition entitled Subtraction at Amsterdam’s Unruly Gallery. More’s abstract work in his Syntax series, which has been developing over the last couple of years, takes centre stage for this exhibition of new work, and his creative process of applying and subsequently revealing layers presents a level of chaos in the background of his very controlled reductive technique. The recent extensive showcase of street art put together by the Wooster Collective for their ten year anniversary exhibition (covered) at Jonathan LeVine Gallery was just the tip of the iceburg. In the streets of Williamsburg & Dumbo, the collective got ahold of some prime wall space for some of the artists involved to work on. Streets: Cleon Peterson (Los Angeles)

Last weekend, Cleon Peterson took on a large scale mural in downtown Los Angeles. Coming off a great summer exhibition across the pond at London’s The Outsiders’ Soho gallery, Cleon kept his acerbic and raw edge as he composed a hard hitting piece featuring his signature “Brinksmen.” Created over the span of two days, the wall was painted with a bloody looking color scheme making it a fresh eye-catcher for the people of LA. The Wooster Collective recently celebrated their 10th anniversary of existence with a massive show at New York’s Jonathan LeVine Gallery. Os Gemeos x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle Launch (New York)

Last Thursday marked the official launch of Hennessy’s latest VS Cognac bottle created by famed Brazilian artists Os Gemeos (featured). This marks their third successful artist collaboration following up previous designs by esteemed artists Futura (covered) & KAWS (covered). Entitled Summer Mixer, this exhibition draws together eight different artists from around the globe to make their debut with the gallery.
