Streets: World Roundup Oct 31- Nov 6

This week’s roundup starts with the always entertaining David Choe (featured). He claims to have recently found the abandoned vacation home of the infamous Pablo Escobar in Columbia. What ensues is of course some NSFW shenanigans that for those interested you can see here. Openings: Faile – “Fragments of Faile” @ Lazarides (Rathbone Place)

Last week, AM stopped by the Lazarides (Rathbone Place) gallery space in London as the Faile Collective (featured) unveiled a new body of work. Fragments of Faile included some strong new mixed block pieces that fans of the Patricks have been accustomed to, but what they had been keeping under wraps until shortly before the opening was a new direction in their creative output. Openings: Amy Ross – “Lone Wolf” @ Kopeiken Gallery

Last weekend, AM stopped by Kopeiken Gallery to view Amy Ross’ newest show, Lone Wolf. As we examined the new body of work, it was evident that she has continued to expand on the show last year at the in Boston where she combined wolf and human forms expresses her anti-war sentiments in a personal set of watercolors. Showing: Armsrock – “Impossible Society” @ Vejle Museum of Art

Back in August, we brought you some photos of the work that Armsrock (interviewed) was preparing for Impossible Society, his exhibition at the Vejle Museum of Art in Denmark. Openings: Aaron De La Cruz – “Long Walk Home” @ Loft In Space

We first met Bay Area graffiti artist, designer, and illustrator Aaron De La Cruz at POW WOW earlier this year where he painted wall murals utilizing his minimalistic and signature patterns. Long Walk Home sees him return to the scene of the crime, Loft in Space, with more of his work, this time in the form of a solo exhibition. ESPO’s love for signs and phraseology was definitely evident as he reinterpret the words and quotes of agency founder David Ogilvy into inspirational murals. Teaser: Mars-1 @ Fecal Face Dot Gallery

On 11/11/11, San Francisco will be the site of Mars-1’s (featured) latest solo show, his first in the area since 2005. The new body of work will be hosted at a temporary location (248 Clement St. @4th Ave) as the Fecal Face Dot Gallery’s main space was the victim of a fire recently. We hope to expect more otherworldly paintings, full or organic and perhaps alien lifeforms as well a continued exploration of some black and white imagery. Showcard after the jump…

That Lotus War Pyramid print from James Jean (featured) that we told you about a couple weeks ago is now available online. For the New Yorkers out there, this new release was sold at Jean’s signing at Reed Space, but now fans everywhere can purchase one for themselves. The five-color, 26 x 30 inch limited edition is signed and numbered and will be produced with a run of 555. A couple more pics after the jump…

Streets: Ma’claim (Egypt)

After showing you a piece memorializing the late Khaled Said by Case, we present further evidence that the Ma’claim crew has interest in Egypt and the current political upheaval there. Akut from Herakut along with Rusk, Tasso, and the aforementioned Case were recently in the country hitting up the streets of Cairo and Alexandria with murals.
