On the eve before his solo show at Honor Fraser, KAWS kicked things off with, “I Can’t Feel My Face,” a VIP party and art exhibition at Culver City’s Japanese-style maid cafe Royal/T. Two original works by Banksy, “No Ball Games” and “Go Flock Yourself,” will be auctioned off on February 26th at the London flagship location of Selfridges when they host “Urban Art” in conjunction with auction house Dreweatts. Banksy collectors will surely be keeping a close eye on these two lots to see how prices hold up during this global economic crisis. “No Ball Games,” measuring 91 x 91.5 cm, carries an estimate of Â£30,000-60,000. Gallery 1988 LA announced their latest print with Luke Chueh (teased) featuring his “Disintegration” image. Fans who missed out when the painting was first printed as a giclee on canvas last year (limited to 25 pieces) now have the chance to adorn their wall with this great image. Amy Crehore opens her solo exhibition “Dreamgirls & Ukes” at Thinkspace this Friday, 2/13 @ 7pm. Â Dan May (interviewed) was in attendance at the opening of his solo show â€œSlow Collisionâ€ this past Saturday at Copro Nason. In addition to having the pleasure of meeting and speaking with May himself, attendees were intrigued by May’s dreamlike, lush environments and delightful yet haunting humanoids and monsters. The segment features an in-depth interview, gives an inside look at Pharrell Williams’ amazing collection, and provides an overview of Kaws’ career, past and present.
