Upcoming: Evah Fan – “What Have You” @ Park Life

This Friday, August 31st, following on the heels of the Andrew Schoultz showing, Evah Fan will be opening a new show at Park Life in San Francisco. The Bay Area-based artist will be presenting a selection of gouache paintings entitled What Have You featuring her colorful and often minimalistic imagery. Look for an increase in her usual size of works as well as the incorporation of collaged elements in this new body of work.

Featuring paintings, editioned works, as well as a book signing, fans of the artist’s kinetic and enigmatic work would do well to head over to the event (7 – 10 PM). Recently, Aakash Nihalani headed over to East Hampton, New York take part in the residency awarded by Lisa de Kooning at the Willem de Kooning studio. As one of three artists in residence for the Summer, Nihalani created several works in the studio as well as a number of site-specific installations on the grounds of the estate featuring his distinctive geometric works that stems from his roots as a street artist using tape as his medium. Washed Up And Left Behind, held at Galleri Diana, will feature the Swedish painter’s amazing hyper-realistic work. This Saturday, Shepard Fairey will present a fresh body of work created in collaboration with Neil Young. The show entitled Americana is Shep’s interpretations of the songs from Young’s recently released album Crazy Horse. This special exhibition will be held at Perry Rubenstein’s newly opened Los Angeles gallery. For all you Obey fans, there will be a limited edition print set available at the opening which contains silkscreen versions of the artwork created for the show. Discuss Shepard Fairey here.
