Preview: Aaron Jasinski “Tractus Secretum” @ Distinction Gallery

Aaron Jasinski has a new show at Distinction Gallery opening this Saturday, April 11th. Entitled “Tractus Secretum” (Latin for “Secret Space of Time”), the show brings back Aaron’s unique moody blend of characters, robots, and animals, in surrealistic landscapes. His colorful pieces often stir memories of a distant past but also tickles the imagination. AM has long enjoyed the mixed-media watercolor and ink studies of Minnesota based artist Cherri Wood. We are excited about her latest series of works entitled “trouble, clearly” opening tomorrow, April 10th in the project room at Thinkspace Gallery. Two talented artists, Jeremiah Ketner and Julie West are opening their dual show “Flower Parade” this Friday, April 10th at Rotofugi in Chicago. Ketner and West make a perfect pairing as both their works have a magical fairytale-like feeling to them. Ketner returns with his signature creatures as well as his wonderful colors, drawing viewers into his dream-like world, while West’s feminine characters project a sense of innocence as they interact with a case of different critters. Openings: Daniel Danger & Dan McCarthy @ Gallery 1988 SF

Daniel Danger and Dan McCarthy (interviewed) had a successful opening this past weekend at Gallery 1988’s San Francisco location. With many of the originals and prints long sold out before the opening, “The Watcher in the Woods” has proven to be quite an accomplishment for these two artists in their West Coast debut. Preview/Releases: Grafuck 4 @ Nucleus Gallery

My, how time flies.  The fourth installment in the Grafuck series is set to be released this Saturday, April 11th at Nucleus Gallery. Grafuck 4 features a diverse selection of paintings, photography, and graphic design involving erotic themed art.  As usual, there a nice mix of well-known and lesser-known artists participating in this year’s exhibition and book release, including James Jean (interviewed) who created the centerfold for this year (seen above).
