So, observant street art fans in New York must have noticed by now that Shepard Fairey’s much vandalized “These Parties Disgust Me” mural (done in conjunction with his “May Day” show at Deitch) has been covered with the scaffolding below rebuilt. Lazarides’ latest exhibition at their Rathbone Place space opened on the 20th of August and showcased a solo exhibition by legendary Brooklyn artist Bäst. On show are a series of large scale works on canvas, paper and wood, along with several sculptural pieces, which sees the artist revisit and expand upon themes and styles he has been experimenting with for many years. AM stopped by again at the Park Avenue Armory to check up on the progress of Yoshitomo Nara and YNG/graf during this week’s “Open Studio” session. This time, we got to take full pictures detailing some of the amazing strides made in the past two days since we last visited the crew. Nick Walker (interviewed) will return to his home country of the UK to unveil a new exhibition “In Gods We Trust”. His latest solo since his sold-out exhibition at Black Rat Press (covered) will deal with the theme that explores the turbulent religious and political landscapes that surround us today.
