First he was the consulting producer for Exit Through the Gift Shop, then he curated the Sanrio anniversary art show, and later in 2011, he’ll be helping the MOCA to curate their Art in the Streets exhibition. It seems like Arkitip has been involved in some pretty cool projects recently including the Andrew Schoultz show at their space in LA and the recent Jose Parla x Incase releases. Word now comes that the next issue (No. 0056) of their comprehensive art magazine will focus on French street photographer and TED prize winner – JR. Never Judge, a group show where a diverse group of artists were invited to reinterpret their favorite book covers, opened recently at the StolenSpace Gallery in London. Classics like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, 1984, War of the Worlds, and Beauty and the Beast had their covers redone by artists like Art Under Pressure, Shepard Fairey, Eelus, and Will Barras. AM recently attended The Hole Gallery’s latest show Postermat. The group exhibition was a little different than the typical group show because they went all retro with it. Agata Oleksiak or simply known has Olek has come into prominence recently for her crocheted interventions on the streets. Although more commonly known for her bikes, the “Crochet Guerrilla” recently created a “sweater” for the famed Charging Bull or “Wallstreet Bull” in New York. It looks like Osgemeos has hooked up with The Moulin again for another project, this time to fashion Slava’s head out of a trailer. The character is taken of the famous Russian clown show – Slava’s SnowShow, which is also the subject of an animation that the Brazilian duo are working on (shown here previously).
