Teaser: TrustoCorp – An Overt Display of Mischief and Mayhem

After spending all day scrambling to get your taxes out on time, swing by Brooklyn Brothers Gallery in the BK to celebrate Tax Day with the folks behind TrustoCorp (covered).  No official word out yet on what to expect, but from what we’ve heard, Trusto has got a pretty good party planned.  More info to come.

Streets: Banksy & Robbo (Take 4)

By now, you all use be familiar with the Banksy and Robbo situation in Camden. It didn’t take long for Team Robbo to respond to the recent modifications to the four stencils at the canal by either some enterprising fans of the street artist or Mr. B himself. With one of the recent changes in an apparent response to a facebook image that Robbo’s crew found offensive, it’s no longer clear who all is involved in this fiasco as we are pretty sure that Banksy […]

Openings: Roa @ Pure Evil Gallery

Looks like the first look at Roa’s show comes from gifted street photographer, RomanyWG, as he stopped by to take some photos of the pieces and installations at the Pure Evil Gallery. As with Roa’s show in Paris, his paintings look to be on found items or well constructed objects with moving parts that allow a juxtaposition of multiple layers of overlaying painting surfaces. More images after the jump.

Update: David Choe – “Nothing to Declare” @ LAzarides 90210

Check it out. Some pictures from inside David Choe’s (featured) LA bat-cave where he’s neck deep working on his new body of work for the coming solo “Nothing to Declare”. As mentioned, David’s batting in the lead-off spot for the new LAzarides 90210 pop up gallery this summer. More insane Choe-ness after the jump.

Streets: LUDO

Parisian artist LUDO (interviewed) took time recently to put up some new works in the streets even while working on his first solo show next month in Paris. We are definitely looking forward to seeing how his works translate in the gallery setting, but from the look of things, he’s continuing to explore his “Nature’s Revenge” series. More images after the jump

Video: Roa – “Urban Jungle Revisited”

Opening tomorrow night, April 8th, at the Pure Evil Gallery in London is Roa with his debut UK solo show. If it’s anything like his show in Paris in February, the Brits will be experiencing an artist that is gifted in translating his outdoor work into a fantastic gallery exhibition. Take a look at this recent frenetic video from KrieBeL that captures the feel of an animal exploring the works of the Belgium-based artist. See the original “Urban Jungle” video from last year after the […]

Installations – TrustoCorp Rebranding in NYC

As we previewed last week, upstart street art conglomerate TrustoCorp (featured) delivered the goods this past weekend in New York City. Combining quality design, public awareness and some good old fashioned mischief, the anonymous board of directors of the Rebranding division of TrustoCorp Intl. went all out in their latest public hijacking. If you’re in the greater New York area, keep an open eye out next time you’re shopping, if you’re lucky you’ll stumble across a TrustoCorp product. If you’re even luckier, you’ll be able […]
