Streets: World Roundup (May 6 – May 12)

After revealing a new piece last month with strong placement from Invader in Paris, our Streets World Roundup feature returns with another piece playing with some nostalgic characters from childhood for most of us. The new Star Wars mosaic is part of his recent attack on London of which you can check out more photos of here. Other worthy walls come from Anders Gjennestad – Norway. Anthony Lister – Miami (source), Wild Drawing – Greece (source), La Pandilla – Arizona (source), Phlegm x Run – UK (source), LNY – Philadelphia […]

Streets: JR – “Inside Out: NYC” @ Time Square

The French street artist and photographer seems to be everywhere. After our interview with JR last month, he has since brought his Wrinkles of the City project to Berlin (streets and in the gallery), premiered his latest film at the Tribeca Film Festival, got up on Riker’s Island, and gifted New York with a new collaborative show and mural with José Parlá. As if that was not enough, the self-styled “photograffeur” also found time to bring his mobile photobooth van (first seen in Japan) to the […]

Streets : Anthony Lister @ theAudience (Los Angeles) – Part II

Earlier this week, we brought you images of Anthony Lister‘s most recent mural in Los Angeles (covered). As usual, the Aussie’s trip didn’t end with just one piece to cover the walls of the city. On top of doing the large scale mural that sits on Beverly Blvd., he also painted inside the offices of theAudience. Creating this piece took no more than 20 minutes and as expected, Lister showed he can put on a show with his unique style, which at times gave the […]

Streets: Anthony Lister @ theAudience (Los Angeles)

Australian artist Anthony Lister recently arrived in Los Angeles to paint a new large scale mural at the offices of the theAudience. Continuing to use the thematic imagery tied in with the ballerina, Lister created a mural that not only shows off his signature style, but one that also shows he can move effortlessly between the confines of a studio and the open spaces of city streets. This mural sits in the the same building where JR pasted one of his pieces more than a year ago (covered), and […]

Streets: Escif (Valencia)

Spanish muralist and street artist, Escif, was very active in his hometown of Valencia in Spain the last couple of months. Famous for his clever, direct and punchy commentaries on modern society, capitalism, consumerism, economy and politics (especially current situation in Spain and European Union), the artist shared couple of his recent street works online via StreetAgainst.com. Focused on wide range of different subjects, the pieces are all showcased with his signature, recognizable style – a simple, almost innocent looking image that is hiding a […]

Streets: Aryz (San Francisco) – Part I

As we shared with you a couple of weeks ago, Spanish artist Aryz has a show currently at Fifty24SF (covered). While in town, he has also started doing what he does best – getting up big on the streets of whatever city he is visiting. With the support of the gallery, WallSpaceSF, and Upper Playground, the young painter has been working on a large portrait located on Polk and Eddy Street. Take a look at more photos below… Photocredit: Fifty24SF. Discuss Aryz here.

Streets: Blu (Italy)

The recently dormant Blu has woken up with a series of murals in Southern Italy protesting the the construction of a Mobile User Objective System, an array of satellites being developed for the United States Department of Defense. Although unproven, the local people believe that their are health risks of long-term exposure to the high-power transmissions and have mounted major protests against the station being bulit there. Streets: David Flores @ The Reserve L.A. (Los Angeles)

Over the weekend, artist David Flores finished a new mural at the new creative campus named “The Reserve L.A.” which is the new home of the Microsoft and TMZ offices. This artistic project for The Reserve is part of several murals that Branded Arts was brought in to organize and curate. Using a photograph of Albert Einstein as his source, Flores created a mural that’s actually made up of two layers, giving it a three-dimensional look. It’s definitely one of his best projects up to […]

Streets: José Parlá x JR @ Bryce Wolkowitz

The piece is a followup to the epic series of walls they collaborated on in Cuba last year (covered) and will be the subject of their exhibition –  The Wrinkles of the City, Havana, Cuba. Check out more of the action in our photos below… Discuss this show here.
