Headlining our Streets: World Roundup this week is a rare extraterrestrial piece from Invader. After a failed attempt last month, he has finally lived up to namesake and invaded space with his tiled works. Our Streets: World Roundup returns this week with this collaborative mural from Serbian twins Sobekcis and Zoer at the top of the list. The wall was painted on the westside of Copenhagen on a street called Sdr. Boulevard. Thanks for Henrik Haven for the photo. The summary of last week’s street activity is headlined by this new mural from Aaron Martin (aka Angry Woebots) in Hawaii. The piece which is located in the kaka’ako district at the UFC Gym (BJ Penn) in Honolulu was painted in preparation for the upcoming POW WOW event. This week’s roundup sees the return of David Ellis to the streets after the massive mural painted in Brooklyn last month. This latest tree piece was commissioned by Converse as part of they Wall to Wall campaign and features Ellis’ sinuous pattern (photo by Justin Carlson and courtesy of Joshua Liner Gallery). The location is on 23rd Street and 12th Ave in Chelsea, just a short walk from the Joshua Liner Gallery which recently curated a show with Ellis and Kris Kuksi in Los Angeles. Leading off last week’s Streets: World Roundup is this amazing mural (seen above) painted over the course of a year by Josef Kristofoletti. The project was commissioned by the ATLAS Experiment at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research and was painted on the side of the ATLAS control room directly above the detector, near the Swiss-French border outside of Geneva by the Texas-based artist. This weeks featured mural for our world roundup is from Liliwenn & Bom K (Da Mental Vaporz) in Brest, France for Crimes of Minds (photo by Kevin Perro). This is the last piece for the project to transform the city into an urban art museum. Look for videos and a book next year documenting the process.
