The major retrospective of work by Tracey Emin, Love is What You Want, is currently on at London’s Hayward Gallery at Southbank Centre. Since stealing the show during Art Los Angeles Contemporary (covered) back in February, Andrew Schoultz will look to parlay his success on the West Coast back East with a new solo exhibition in New York. Opening Thursday, May 19th at Morgan Lehman Gallery, Unrest will yet again underscore Schoultz’s proficiency with his craft and his penchant for multiple mediums. On Thursday 12 May, AM attended the opening of the Ai Weiwei exhibition at Lisson Gallery (previewed), spread across both of its spaces on Bell Street in West London. The wide selection of work on display — produced over the last six years and agreed with the artist at the beginning of 2011 — does well to illustrate the playful, evocative and provocative nature of the Ai’s output. Black Rat Projects in London recently hosted shooting@earth, a three-day event running from 5 to 7 May which launched @earth, the new photo-essay by Peter Kennard, assisted by Tarek Salhany. The exhibition also showcased a collection of works that packed a punch by former armour designer, War Boutique. Streets: Faile – Prayer Wheel (Williamsburg)

One of the coolest examples of Faile’s outdoor works are the Prayer Wheels (featured) which first debuted at their Lost in Glimmering Shadows show in the UK. These sculptural works are engineered to spin in place while people meditated to their favorite images from the collective. In the past few years, the duo have placed these awesome pieces outdoors for the people to enjoy.
