Over the weekend, Rivera Gallery unveiled a truly impressive exhibit titled anthro(physis), a show which fused in very interesting ways a variety of artwork ranging from sculpture to paintings. At the core of the show, the theme connecting the artwork explored the issues of nature & environment and how art can re-interpret these issues in different ways. London’s Frieze week kicked off properly on Wednesday 12 October with the preview for Frieze Art Fair in Regent’s Park. AM has long been a Frieze enthusiast. The recent opening of a third gallery space in London confirms White Cube ongoing strength, and its presence at the Frieze Art Fair is nothing less than spectacular. For their part in the art fair, the gallery brought with them paintings from Nate Frizzell (interviewed), Katrin Fridriks, and Joshua Petker as well as some sculptures. As we walked out the elevators last week to head into the main exhibition hall for Art Platform, something caught out attention in the side atrium. Imagine our surprise and delight as our eyes laid on Ai Weiwei’s Snake Bag, one of his most moving and intriguing works.
