Releases / Benefits: Camille Rose Garcia – “I Will Be There When You Fall” Print

Camille Rose Garcia (interviewed) recently released a new limited edition through Roq La Rue to partially benefit Bat Conservation International. Fitting in perfectly with her recent imagery featuring the winged creature, I Will Be Here When You Fall will be produced in a run of 100, be sized at 9″ x 12″, and cost $250 with $130 of each print going to the conservation efforts. Swoon Braddock Tiles Project

Street artist and humanitarian  Swoon (interviewed) has recently announced a new project she is working on in North Braddock, Pennsylvania. Entitled Braddock Tiles, the venture will take place in an abandoned church which will eventually become an art-making hub in the blighted area. Their first order of business is hand-making 20,000 ceramic tiles to restore the roof of the historic building. Benefits: Tara McPherson x CCM – “Rebuilding From A Fire”

Last month, there was a monstrous four alarm fire that raged thru a handful of apartments in Williamsburg Brooklyn. As many as 200 firefighters were dispatched to get the flames under control, with very little success. While many were displaced, a few of the residents of this devastating tragedy were artist Tara McPherson, Sean Leonard and their lovely newborn child Ronin. The untimely recent passing of Justin Van Hoy has had an huge impact on the artistic community he was associated with. The Los Angeles based gallerist, artist and designer sadly lost his long battle with cancer in November shortly after his book Milk and Honey: Contemporary Art in California was published.
