Releases: Daniel Arsham – “PIKACHU Editions”

Alongside the Chinese exclusive WHITE CRYSTALIZED PIKACHU (available through the Archive Editions WeChat Mini-program), Daniel Arsham will also be releasing BLUE CRYSTALIZED PIKACHU on his website on April 24th (12 Noon Eastern Time) These editions are the first inklings of the New York-based artist’s collaboration with the Pokémon company and the animators from their studio. For all the kids (and adults) staying safe at home, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) has released a new coloring page that you can download for free and print out. You can see the process video of how she created the image on iPad Procreate on her Instagram here. This new offering joins her first coloring page from a few weeks back. On April 21st (10 AM Japan Time), James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing a stunning new print through Adachi Hanga with proceeds going towards the institute’s mission of preserving of the traditional art of Japanese woodcut printing techniques by training young artisans and holding workshops. James Jean (interviewed) has always had a thing for jewelry (see OVM line) and high fashion (i.e. 3.1 Phillip Lim & Prada) To that end, the Los Angeles-based artist has collaborated on a new collection with Joyería Suárez (you may remember D*Face’s line with the Spanish brand back last year) featuring designs inspired by his artwork and palette. This Saturday night (March 7th) in Los Angeles, Eric Joyner (interviewed) will be unveiling his latest batch of paintings featuring his reoccurring obsession with robots and donuts while drawing from an eclectic mix of inspirations (like David Hockney – seen above). Entitled Machine Man Memories, the exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery from the San Francisco-based artist includes 18 new paintings, some of which stray from his usual motifs and includes non-robotic figures such as Frosty the Snow Man, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Wizard of O’s, and a dragon.
