Have you seen what happens when a band or sports team throws a few free t-shirts into the crowd? A brief frenzy may ensue as people try to catch the freebie and all returns to normal a few seconds later when one person comes up victorious. Now take a red hot UK street artist and multiply that scenario by ONE THOUSAND. That’s what may happen in London come Friday. Renowned urban contemporary artist Adam Neate announced that he will be dropping 1,000 pieces of his […]
German collaborative duo Herakut will be opening a show entitled “Dirty Laundry” on November 28th. The show was organized by campobarbossa who arranged for a venue in London’s Covent Garden. All the works are pre-commissioned paintings and sketches so this will strictly be an exhibition with no sales. We quite like the combination of Akut’s photorealistic spray paint and Hera’s more fluid broad strokes. Jasmin aka Hera took some time to answer some questions and share some preview images with us.
Rounding up AM‘s whirlwind gallery tour of LA last weekend was Copronason’s show of Kukula, Tin, and Sas Christian. The Santa Monica gallery was busy with three appealing artists at its opening this past Saturday. As usual, Sas Christian presented a quality, not quantity body of work. It was great to see her alluring works in person; those eyes are bigger than life! Kukula’s body of work looked even better in person than the images which we previewed last week. If you already had a […]

She was kind enough to send us some preview images for our readers as well as answer some questions after the jump…
This past Saturday night, Subliminal Projects was decked out in the typographical patterns of House Industries. The Delaware based group showcased a new collection of prints and patterns and transformed the gallery into a graphical delight that showcased just what some simple fonts can do. AM was invited to the opening night rock out with the beats of DJ Diabetic, who kept the night bumping way past closing time. For those who don’t know the Los Angeles based Subliminal Projects; its an amazing space owned/curated […]

On a weekend packed full of great shows, the Carmichael Gallery opening reception was one of AM’s first stops. Fresh off moderating the successful Bonham’s Contemporary Street panel, up next for Carmichael was the “Pour Me Some Smoke” group show which offered a wide variety of contemporary flavors.
