It was only a matter of time…  KAWS collectors must be in a frenzy this morning as news breaks of a 4-foot dissected companion.  No details yet of when this delicious piece of vinyl drops, but we will be sure to let you know when we hear word.

Teaser/Releases: Nick Walker – “A Sequence of Events” @ Black Rat Press

Bristol vandal Nick Walker returns to Black Rat Press in London on May 28th to unveil his latest show “A Sequence of Events.” If Walker’s past shows are any indication of what we can expect, fans have a nice treat in store for them. With creative pieces that consistently hold their own against work from that other relatively famous artist from Bristol, AM is looking forward to seeing what Walker dreams up this time. The opening will also mark the release and signing for Walker’s […]

Preview: Jose Parla – “Reading Through Seeing” @ Ooi Botos Gallery (Hong Kong)

José Parlá’s first solo exhibition in Hong Kong, “Reading Through Seeing,” (teased) opens on May 14th at Oos Botos Gallery in Hong Kong. In addition to his signature abstract calligraphic paintings and watercolors, the show also includes several of Parla’s beautiful Bizen-yaki pottery (featured) works. This latest series can be summed up in one word: stunning. The most color-rich and vibrant in recent memory, the works are most likely reflective of Parla’s positive expressions of Asia based on his “The New Grand Tour” cultural exchange […]

Preview: Jab Strong Fierce (Street Fighter Tribute Show) @ Nucleus Gallery

Our friends over at Nucleus Gallery just sent over some more preview pics from their street fighter tribute show opening this Saturday, April 25 including this gem from Luke Chueh entitled “‘Hyakuretsukyaku (Lightening Kick).” With many of us spending countless hours of our youth perfecting the moves for our favorite fighters, this show will definitely be nostalgic. Check out some more images from this exhibit featuring one of the best, if not the best video game ever – after the jump…

Lazarides to Open New Gallery – Rathbone Place

Buy low, sell high… guess Steve Lazarides sees the recent economic downturn as an opportunity to make some moves. The marquee urban art gallery from London has been busy in 2009. Last month Laz transformed their Greek street location into a shop with a more accessible price point and stocked it with plenty of quality artwork under £5,000. Now Lazarides is making his move on the high end – a luxurious new flagship gallery, “Rathbone Place,” will be opening its doors on May 15th. This newly renovated five story location […]

Preview: Banksy @ Andipa Gallery

Old school London mainstay Andipa Gallery is going to the streets and holding an exhibition of Banksy’s rare works on canvas. Guess it’s time the old money flexed it’s muscles and showcased some choice secondary market pieces from one of United Kingdom’s finest. A veritable gem amongst gems is the ginormous “Are You Using That Chair?” measuring over 7 x 14′. This is by far the largest canvas that we’ve seen from Banksy. This remix of Edward Hopper’s 1942 masterpiece “Nighthawks” is an iconic example […]

Preview: Saturday @ Phillips NYC

Last night, Phillips De Pury in New York City held a special preview of the lots from their Saturday sale coming up this weekend. AM loves Saturday @ Phillips because of its increased accessibility compared with other higher-end contemporary auctions, which are typically held on mid-week afternoons and evenings, making them difficult for most working people to attend. In addition, Phillips Saturday sales are known for a wide range of items, including a great selection of urban, street and other emerging art, as well as […]

Releases: Bronze Pollard – Tim Biskup

Tim Biskup has been teasing his collectors with new images of his 7″ Bronze Pollard on his blog.  We like the new faceted look which mirrors the evolution of style in his paintings.  The figure will be produced with an edition of 44 and will be stamped and initialed on the feet. With his previous bronze release, the 2″ Iki, costing about $300, fans had better start saving now for the June release. More images after the jump.
