Starting March 10th and until May 7th, Galleria Patricia Armocida will be showing Transitions, an exhibition by Mode 2 (interviewed). Coming back to Italy after taking part in Bridges of Graffiti collateral event of the 56th International Venice Biennale Arte (covered), this is the British artist’s first solo show in the country. On 3rd of March Maya Hayuk will be back at Alice Gallery in Brussels to open her third solo with the gallery – Grow Room. From the few preview images we’ve seen, the show will include more complex compositions from the Brooklyn-based artist. Through intricate patterns and lush colors, Hayuk creates paintings and murals that recall traditional Ukrainian crafts, airbrushed manicures, and mandalas. In July 2015, Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei finally got his passport back four years after Chinese authorities seized it preventing him from leaving the country. In recent months, he’s been traveling around Europe, from UK to Greece, where he visited the refugee camp on Lesbos and set up a studio there.
