Pow Wow ’12 – Kickoff

On February 9th, Qatar Museum will be hosting the opening for Takashi Murakami’s first solo exhibition in the Middle East. Olek is launching her first UK solo show this evening at Tony’s Gallery in East London. The wall-to-floor installation recreates living quarters, complete with bed, tables, picture frames and other domestic objects — all covered in brightly-coloured crochet. Preview / Setup: Hush – “New Work” @ 941 Geary

Tomorrow night in San Francisco, UK-based Hush (interviewed) will be bringing his blend of imagery from the Far East and urban sensibility to 941 Geary. From the preview photos we have seen, attendees will be enjoying small to large mixed-media works featuring his special technique that includes painting, screen printing, spray-painting and collage. AM stopped by Mid-City Arts yesterday to visit with Ukranian duo, Interesni Kazki, as they prepared a new body of work for their show opening on Saturday night, November 19th. Setup: Park Life Pop-Up Store @ Paulson Bot Press

San Francisco gallery/store, Park Life has teamed up with print shop Paulson Bot Press for a temporary pop-up store filled with artwork and merchandise at their West Berkeley warehouse space. Park Life has curated the gallery space with new and past editions and originals from artists such as Tauba Auerbach, Andrew Schoultz, Tucker Nichols, Clare Rojas, Barry McGee, Chris Johanson and more.
