Teaser: Mark Ryden @ Tomio Koyama

One of the artists that most impressed us at Art Basel, Mark Ryden, is set to show in one of Japan’s most prestigious galleries Tomio Koyama in February. The show is entitled “Snow Yak,” and from the looks of things, Mark is continuing with “snowy white” as his color palette that we saw at the Tomio Koyama booth at Art Basel (here).  We obtained a few teaser images to whet your appetite til the show opens next month in Tokyo. Stay tuned as AM has […]

Releases: The Call I – Josh Keyes

As anticipated, it was announced that Josh Keyes’ next print will be of his piece from Art Basel Week, “The Call I.”  As demand for his work has skyrocketed, it has been increasingly harder for collectors to get their hands on his prints, let alone his originals. Well, here is a chance for a “easy” purchase hopefully as this will be the large edition release for the year with a sign & numbered run of 750. These will be an archival giclee on embossed hahnemuhle […]

Teaser: Stella Im Hultberg/Andrew Hem @ Roq La Rue

Here is a little taste of what’s to come as we look ahead to February.  One of the highlights will be a two-person show of Stella Im Hultberg and Andrew Hem opening on the 13th at Roq La Rue. Seen above is a shot of some works in progress from Stella’s studio.  It’s hard to tell exactly, but looks as though she will be continuing her works on canvas.  It will be interesting to see what she has in store as she is continuing to […]

Teaser: Brandt Peters @ Gallery 1988 LA

Brandt Peters’ show “Cackle Factory” opens on February 3rd at Gallery 1988 LA. Thought we would drop a little teaser of what he has been working on for those interested. Looking at his paintings, we are always reminded of the stylings of Jessica Rabbit, perhaps because Brandt draws from his background as a illustrator, character, film, and animation designer.  His masked misfist, deviant animal characters, and unique color palette sets him apart, and we are looking forward to this new body of work.

Teaser: Gary Baseman @ Urbanix (Israel)

Internationally known artist, Gary Baseman, will be opening a show in Israel at Urbanix on January 8th entitled “The Sacrificing of Cake.” Judging from the show description, this body of work will be intriguing as it is rooted in some personal experiences.  Also, we will be interested to see the appearance of the “dragons” as we don’t believe he has used that imagery before. “He presents in his works the image of the dragon “Uga” (meaning “cake” in Hebrew), slaughtered again and again by feminine […]

After a momentous “hit and run” show in Denver during the week of the Democratic National Convention, the Manifest Hope Gallery will be making an appearance in Washington before the inauguration (Jan. 17th – 19th). The event will again highlight the artists behind the grass roots movement that helped propel […]
