Newly formed art collective devNgosha recently stopped by the offices of theAudience and painted a new mural entitled Connected. Situated in the same building that houses work from JR (covered) and Kozyndan (covered), this new multi-wall project combines the talents of Devin Liston and Gosha Levochkin. In the past, Devin’s work has always had a strong emphasis on portrait work and during his time as part of Cyrcle., he helped formed a style that gave that group a multi-faceted approach to their art. On the other hand, Gosha’s work has […]

The anatomical dissections of local animals and Chinese propaganda, two types of imagery that you wouldn’t think would work as a collaboration. However, that is exactly what happened when ROA and Ever joined forces in Argentina for a joint mural entitled The people feed communism to the beast. This piece, painted over the Christmas holiday, was placed on a squatted building in Palermo Viejo in Buenos Aires and features Mao head offered up to an elephant seal. Photo credit: Graffitimundo. Prolific artist Escif recently started a series of murals entitled Les Fleurs Du Mal, or The Flowers of Evil painted in different cities in Europe like Besançon (France), Zagreb (Croatia), Navarra & Albacete (Spain), Niort (France), and his home city of Valencia (Spain). The different species of flowers (like hemlock, nightshade, wolfsbane, and more), all beautiful in their own right, all have deadly effects when combined with human biology. Check out more information on his blog, including some historical context and enjoy the rest of the photos below… […]

It’s been a while since we caught up with Brian Adam Douglas, a.k.a. Elbow-Toe (interviewed) – the last time probably being in 2011 when we watcheuphill work on the streets as well as open a solo at Black Rat Projects (covered). The Brooklyn-based artist recently surfaced to paste up this new piece entitled Tastes Like Chicken in his borough. The style mimics the time-intensive collage technique he uses for his cut-paper works some of which you can see in March at the Andrew Edlin Booth at The Armory Show in NYC […]

Continuing to produce public displays of his geometric mastery, James Marshall aka Dalek (interviewed) recently painted another mural at the Hobie Surf Shop in Corona Del Mar. Orange County is kind of ground zero for fans of the American artist’s work because of his affiliation with Hurley – leading to many shows, product lines, and associated events in and around Hurley Space. Check out some more shots below… Photo credit: James Ng for Arrested Motion. Discuss DALEK here.

After creating interpretations of iconic Star Wars characters such as Darth Vader and the Storm Trooper, KAWS gives his vision on how the legendary Boba Fett will look with his signature “XX”. One of the most popular villans and definitely the most feared intergalactic bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe, Boba has one of the coolest character designs and weaponry in Hollywood. The figure  looks incredible as KAWS and Medicom actually craft jaw dropping detailings such as the wear and battle damage on the armored […]

It seems the Sheffiled-based Phlegm has headed south again to London for another mural. He has also been hard at work on a book that hopefully will be released soon. See some updates here, here, here, and here. Photo credit: Claudelondon. Discuss Phlegm here.

Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada was recently invited to Amsterdam to work on a piece for the International Human Rights Day that helped to launch Vogelvrije Vrouwen (Defend women who defend human rights!). This campaign raises awareness to the plight of Mesoamerican women who are illegally targeted and terrorized for defending human rights in that region and was commissioned by feminist foundation Mama Cash. The large-scale land portrait that spanned almost two football fields (created with the help of 80 volunteers) is part of the Cuban American artist’s ongoing Terrestrial Series. He states […]

For this week’s video Rewind, we start things off with news that starting Wednesday and running through Feb. 5, about 3,000 New York City taxis will feature a 30-second video from Ryan McGinley.
