Since we last reported on EWOK (coverage of his show at Known Gallery) and Sever (Montana Cans Across America), the two MSK members have join forces while taking a trip to Israel. Not only did they get up on numerous walls with beautiful complex pieces like the one above, they also took time to leave tributes to the recently freed REVOK – one of them on the Hebron Police Precinct! German collaborative duo Herakut have been keeping busy recently. After hitting up Los Angeles and New Hampsire with a series of shows and walls, they traveled to Jaffa Port, Tel Aviv to participate in the CASTRO Street Project with two murals entitled If I gave up my arms could you teach me how to be happy? and I took my world apart just to be here with you. Currently showing at New York’s Fredericks and Freiser, Matthew Palladino’s latest exhibition simply entitled New Work is about to come to the end of its run on June 11th. Looks like Phlegm has found a new location and is continuing to work on murals for his forthcoming photographic edition of his zine Phlegm Comic. As most graf and street artists know, one of the suppliers of their tools of the trade is spray paint company Montana Cans. The Germany-based business now has a new project called Montana Cans Across America where a team of graf artists consisting of Smash 137, Wane and Sever take a 8-day roadtrip through the South. Getting up in the unlikely locale of Tennessee, Madrid-based REMED aka Guillaume Alby painted this mural for UrbanArt, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to development of public art in Memphis. Entitled Man & Woman Facing Each Other, the wall is a perfect example of the Spanish street artist’s organic geometry and lesser seen letter work. Last Sunday, AM dropped by the Levi’s Film Workshop, where they were screening the trailer for Born Under a Bad Sign, a film in progress by artist Neck Face and director Isaiah Seret. The upcoming feature-length kung fu horror movie, starring the artist was filmed in his alleyway installation at MOCA’s Art in the Streets exhibition. Those who attended the screening also got to see an extended fight scene (censored for museum audiences) which ended in co-star, Mindy Kelly, being decapitated. Neck Face tossed back […]
