Recap: YESNIK x Jaybo – “For Better or Worse” @ (LA Popup)

Last weekend, YESNIK and Jaybo presented some new works for fans in Los Angeles with a surprisingly cohesive three day pop up show. From September 7-9, YESNIK and Jaybo will be holding a joint popup exhibition in Los Angeles at F-U (For the Unconventional). The two artists have collaborated in the past before (see Amsterdam 2017), sharing a background in 80s and 90s underground street culture and design and now taking similar artistic paths towards an increasingly abstract aesthetic. Releases: YESNIK – “Hollow Heaven” & “King of Kings” Skate Decks

Entitled Hollow Heaven & King of Kings, two skatedecks were recently released by YESNIK featuring some of his signature imagery. Drawing from his experience living in an isolated mountain town in Central California, the Los Angeles-based artist has been painting totemic abstracted elements of the natural landscape for the last several years. Signed and numbered in an edition of 25, the two decks can be purchased as a set or separately for $200 & $125 respectively here. After previewing three booths (here, here, and here) that we are looking forward to later today at the PULSE art fair, we have one final suggestion for those attending. Los Angeles based fine artist Mike Stilkey will be having a solo exhibition at David B. Smith Gallery in Denver, CO, this coming Friday, September 18th, from 7-10pm with Stilkey in attendance at the opening reception.
