WK Interact recently launched his latest publication entitled WK/Act 4. This book houses works from 1989 to the present day and spans 25 years of the French born/Brooklyn based artist’s storied career. To mark this occasion, WK worked in partnership with KLINIK for a pop up exhibition at The Garage in New York City. Conor Harrington’s (interviewed) run in New York City included not only outdoor works (here & here), but also culminated in a riveting exhibition in SOHO. Openings: Usugrow – “Inkflow” @ Fifty24SF

Over the weekend, Fifty24SF hosted the opening for Usugrow’s new solo up in the Bay Area. Featuring his calligraphy on the walls as well in the pieces for sale, Inkflow marks his return to the San Francisco art scene after showing there in 2007 and participating in a group show with his Shinganist crew back in 2009 (covered). In between setting up for his popup show in New York (more on this later), Conor Harrington (interviewed) took advantage of the hospitality from the L.I.S.A. Project to leave a mark on the streets of the Big Apple (Broome & Lafayette Street). After sharing the first mural with you here, we now have shots of the second piece he was able to work on. While in town for his popup show in New York (more on this later), Conor Harrington (interviewed) made sure to leave his mark on the streets for his fans. One of the murals he worked on was for the L.I.S.A. Project on Rivington and Suffolk and featured one of his colonial style characters painted in his combined loose and photorealistic style. Streets: Dalek x Instagram (New York)

The geometrically inclined James “Dalek” Marshall (interviewed) recently travelled from his home in North Carolina to paint Instagram’s first ever sponsored public art at the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Working on a double decker container, he covered it in his signature combination of lines, shapes, and colors creating a striking mural that stood out against the New York skyline in the background. As part of the continuing L.I.S.A Project in New York City’s Little Italy, Crash and Daze were recently invited to collaborate on a wall on Mulberry Street. For the two legendary NY writers, the mural was a natural extension of their friendship and professional lives as they share a studio together and were one of the first to make the jump from the streets to the gallery back in the 80’s.
