Streets: 1010 (Warsaw)

After a look at Conor Harrington’s new mural for Street Art Doping in Warsaw, we now have photos of the effort from 1010. Like his recent piece in Las Vegas (covered), the German artist painted his signature multi-colored optical illusion on the side of a building. Take a look at more shots of wall below and let your eyes fool you into visualizing a hole on the side of the structure. Discuss Conor Harrington here.

Streets: 1010 (Las Vegas)

After sharing a massive new mural in Paris from 1010 with you back in May, we now return with a smaller project he worked on in Sin City. Painted for the Life Is Beautiful festival in Downtown Las Vegas and arranged by JustKids, the new mural takes advantage of a unique three part structure in the financial district. Streets: 1010 (Paris)

After introducing you to the work of 1010 after a showing in San Francisco earlier this year, we now have some images from a new project from the German artist in Paris. Invited in by Galerie Itinerrance, the street artist known for painted multicolored optical illusions onto the side of buildings created the appearance of a chasm on a freeway interchange under construction in the 13th arrondissement. Openings: 1010 – “Limbus” @ Hashimoto Contemporary

Last weekend, art fans in San Francisco saw the opening of Limbus at Hashimoto Contemporary, the debut solo in the United States for German artist 1010. The multi-colored pieces were indoor representations of the work he does on the streets – three dimensional sensory illusions that make it appear there are holes in the side of buildings and structures – a good example of which he painted as an installation on one of the gallery walls. Previews: 1010 – “Limbus” @ Hashimoto Contemporary

Saturday night, February 7th, in San Francisco, Hashimoto Contemporary will be presenting the debut solo stateside show for street artist 1010. Limbus features works on paper that translate into a gallery setting what the German artist is famous for in his public mural – layered and multi-colored crevices seemingly extended deep into the side of buildings and structures. Attendees will witness a mini-version of this themselves as he is creating a installation piece inside the space itself. Enjoy some preview images below… Discuss 1010 here.

Streets: World Roundup (Sept 22 – Oct 12)

With this latest edition of our Streets: World Roundup article, we turn our eyes to Las Vegas for our featured mural from ROA. The Belgium-based artist withstood the desert heat for four days of hard work before completing this piece with the image of a horny toad, a local species that can squirt blood out of its eyes to deter predators. Painted for the Life Is Beautiful Festival, the wall can be found on Stewart and N. 6th Street. Other notable public art comes from […]
