Openings: “Space//Squared” @ White Walls Gallery

Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). This time around, participating artists were again asked to contribute artwork in a 10 x 10″ format.  Along with pieces from over 100 artists (list seen below), Adam Friedman and Robert Minervini also created a site-specific installation featuring a series of paintings interspersed throughout mural elements. Rewind: April 8 – April 13

Keeping things going, we have another Rewind summary for you this week. First up is origami artist Sipho Mabona, who recently folded a life-sized elephant from a since giant sheet of paper. He and his team of nearly a dozen people worked over four weeks to create the 10 foot tall sculpture. Showing: Adam Friedman – ‘Esoterica’ @ One Grand Gallery

One Grand Gallery in Portland is currently exhibiting Adam Friedman’s latest body of work Esoterica. The PDX-based artist has compiled a series of paintings and sculptural elements housed within the muraled space reflecting his recognisable yet inexplicable geological landscape based subject matter. Friedman’s contemporary take on landscape painting uses acrylic to present natural elements within isolated environments. Preview: Adam Friedman – “Space and Time, and Other Mysterious Aggregations” @ Eleanor Harwood Gallery

With the opening set for January 25th at the Eleanor Harwood Gallery, the time is right to preview Adam Friedman’s newest body of work. Space and Time, and Other Mysterious Aggregations will feature the Portland-based artist’s signature surreal geologic forms, created through the process and painting and mixed media work.
