This year’s Life Is Beautiful arts and music festival (also see 2016, 2015, and 2014) once again collaborated with JUSTKIDS / Charlotte Dutoit on bringing more public art to downtown Las Vegas. Openings: Festival Iminente (London)

Festival Iminente (previewed) opened recently and will bring two days of art and music to London’s Brick Lane. The festival serves as both a celebration of Portuguese and pan-European culture and a warning of what may be lost as a result of the UK’s exit from the European Union. Vhil‘s cast concrete sculpture is based upon a sketch which he drew on a previous trip to the capital. Previews/Interviews: Vhils // Festival Iminente (London)

Festival Iminente will be bringing a taste of Portuguese culture to East London at the end of the month. The event is being curated by Vhils and the Underdogs Gallery which he established in 2013. The festival debuted in Lisbon’s Oeiras district last autumn and this latest iteration carries a particularly contemporary theme with the subtitle Art Before Brexit. Recap: artBGC ONE (Manila)

Last week, we shared with you some of the works Nate Frizzell (interviewed) created for the artBGC ONE Festival in the Philippines. We now have a recap of the other murals that were created by international artists like FAILE, Cyrcle., AkaCORLEONE, Kristin Farr, Drew Merritt and Filipino artists Egg Fiasco and Anjo Bolarda for the inaugural event curated by LeBasse Projects, and held in conjunction with the Bonifacio Arts Foundation (BAFI) in Manila. The Underdogs Gallery is Lisbon is currently showing a solo from a young illustrator, graphic designer, and visual artist, AkaCorleone.
