Preview: “Love Conquers All” @ Thinkspace Gallery

This Saturday night, August 7th, Thinkspace Gallery will be hosting “Love Conquers All”, a group show supporting the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) struggle with 20% of the proceeds donated to Equality California. Looking through the preview, there really are some pretty strong pieces in this show from many of the artists that we cover here on AM. Another year has passed since the last Sea No Evil (covered) and the time has come to get together for another charity show to benefit the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The benefit art auction for the organization most well known for Whale Wars is once again held in Riverside, California at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium and will feature an even more impressive lineup of artists this year with over 100 works available via silent auction. Currently showing at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Rome is “Flutter”, Ana Bagayan’s first overseas solo show. Containing a delectable selection of Ana’s paintings, the California resident artist was in attendance at the recent opening, from which we have some pictures courtesy of the gallery. Ana Bagayan should need no introduction to regular readers of AM, her stunning portraiture and contemporary figurative work being a regular feature here as her work continues to evolve with each and every new show. Entitled “Flutter”, Ana’s latest solo exhibition and her first body of work to be shown overseas, opens this weekend on Saturday 8th May at Rome’s Mondo Bizzaro Gallery. Following on from her recent showing with Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle last year (covered), the talented Ana Bagayan’s next exhibition, “Flutter” opens on Saturday, May 8th at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Rome. This will be Ana’s first overseas showing, and promises a captivating series of oil paintings and drawings. The painting pictured above is the title piece for the show. Take a look at a couple of close up views and breathe in the beautiful detail after the jump.

It’s always heartwarming for us to see artists acknowledging supporters of their work, but Ana Bagayan is going one further this week with a “Fan Appreciation Day” she is staging. We were impressed with the larger scale and the amount of detail she put into the paintings she created for this Seattle show. Next month, opening on October 9th to be exact, Ana Bagayan (featured) will be part of a group show with Tin (interviewed) and Ryan Heshka. Releases/Charity: Ana Bagayan – “Silence” Print & Lunch Bunch

Artist Ana Bagayan recently released two new giclee prints.Â The first one is a special charity fundraiser print entitled ”Prey” (above), with 100% of the profits going towards funding Ana’sÂ Lunch Bunch project (Each copy of ”Prey” is just $25, and the funds raised from each sale will feed 12 people). AnaÂ recently started off making and distributing home-made lunch packs for the homeless of Los Angeles. AM had the pleasure of attending the opening of Crazy 4 Cult 3D show at Gallery 1988 (LA) a couple weeks ago. The 3rd installment of the wildly popular group show again brought together some of our favorite artists to reinterpret some of the most addictive cult films of all time.
