This year’s G40 Art Summit, put on by Art Whino, will be held in Richmond Virginia and will focus on the “Art of the Mural.” Thirteen street muralist from around the globe (2501, Angry Woebots, Aryz, El Mac, Gaia, How & Nosm, Jaz, Jesse Smith, La Pandilla, Lelo, London Police, Pixel Pancho, ROA, and Scribe) were invited to unleash their creativity on 20 large scale walls in a 10 block radius. POW WOW ‘ 12 / Streets: Will Barras x Meggs x Mr. Jago x Angry Woebots x Phibs x Peap Tar

Continuing our look on the streets of Hawaii, the impact of POW WOW and the artists brought in from around the world on the industrial district of Kaka’ako is undeniable. This time we look at the building that houses former UFC champion BJ Penn’s gym. Artists hailing from Australia (Meggs & Phibs), Britain (Will Barras & Mr. Jago) and New Zealand (Peap Tar) collaborated along side Hawaiian artist Angry Woebots to create an impressive piece. Teaser: POW WOW 2012 (Hawaii)

In a couple weeks, the AM crew will be heading over Hawaii to this year’s POW WOW. Curated by Jasper Wong and hosted by Loft In Space / Fresh Cafe in Oahu, the art retreat will feature a extensive lineup of artists painting the surrounding industrial district of Kaka’ako. Along with beautifying the streets, the event will culminate with opening on February 18th featuring original artwork from the participants. Streets: Angry Woebots & Pixel Pancho

Two members of the Army of Snipers crew, Aaron “Angry Woebots” Martin and Pixel Pancho, recently teamed up together for some large murals in Los Angeles. Martin doesn’t usually go so big, but his friend and collaborator from Italy showed the way. We especially like this wall with Martin’s signature panda character changed into a grizzly and Pixel Pancho with his robotic version. More photos after the jump…

Greg Simkins & Deph Custom Surfboards – US Open of Surfing Pac Sun Booth

If you happen to be in Orange County for the US Open of Surfing which started yesterday, make sure you make it over to the Pac Sun booth as they will have some custom surfboards on display as well as live painting sessions all week. POW WOW ‘ 11 / Streets: Angry Woebots & Ekundayo

It looks like the POW WOW preparations are already underway in Hawaii as late addition Ekundayo and Aaron Martin (Angry Woebots) get up on the walls of the FreshCafe / Loft in Space venue. The space will house all the live-painting, starting on the 16th, and main event on the 19th so hopefully we’ll be seeing more murals soon. More pics after the jump…

Streets: Basel Week Miami ’10 Overview (Part I)

SDCC ’10: Omi : Unmasked Party @ Bar Basic

On Thursday night, Munky King unveiled their newest product, the Omi mask, with a release party at Bar Basic in San Diego. Of more interest to us, was the live painting on larger replica masks that went down at the event featuring Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed) , Joe Ledbetter, Aaron “Angry Woebots” Martin, and David Flores.
