Showing: Armsrock – “Stedfortrædere” @ MOHS Exhibit

A couple weeks ago, AM dropped by MOHS Exhibit in Copenhagen to take a look at a new collection of work from Armsrock (interviewed) for his latest show. After previewing some of the paintings in his studio recently, it was nice to see his artistic vision realized on the walls of the space alongside work from Sif Itona Westerberg in their joint show entitled Stedfortrædere (translated to Delegates). The exhibition ends April 21st, so you still have plenty of time to check it out yourself if […]

Studio Visit / Preview: Armsrock – “Stedfortrædere” @ MOHS Exhibit

After a showing in Århus in February, Armsrock (interviewed) continues the tour of his native country with an exhibition in Copenhagen at MOHS Exhibit. Entitled Stedfortrædere (translated to Delegates), the joint show in Denmark opening on March 16th will also feature the work of Sif Itona Westerberg. AM recently stopped by the painter’s studio to get a look at the new body of work. Photo credit: Henrik Haven for Arrested Motion. Discuss Armsrock here.

Showing: Armsrock – “Should The Light Not Take Us” @ Galleri Profilen

At the Galleri Profilen in Denmark, Armsrock (interviewed) currently has a new body of work on display entitled Should The Light Not Take Us. Continuing to develop his gallery repertoire, the thoughtful street artist is working again in the same large-scale that impressed us during his showing at the Vejle Museum of Art back in November. More photos after the jump…

Showing: Armsrock – “Impossible Society” @ Vejle Museum of Art

Back in August, we brought you some photos of the work that Armsrock (interviewed) was preparing for Impossible Society, his exhibition at the Vejle Museum of Art in Denmark. The show is now on view through December 4th and really shows a maturity in the Danish artist’s work as well the type of scale that he is painting in now. More photos after the jump…

Preview: Armsrock – “The Impossible Society” @ Vejle Museum of Art

We haven’t heard much from Armsrock (interviewed) since his light-infused showing in Vienna earlier this year. There’s a good reason for that as the Danish street artist has been focused on building an important new body of work for his show at the Vejle Museum of Art in his native country. The large soulful paintings appear to be some of his best to date and we look forward to seeing the full results of his hard work come the September 3rd opening of The Impossible Society. […]

Streets: Armsrock (Vienna)

Continuing his exploration of projection art (see his show and participation in the Lightsound Project in Copenhagen), Armsrock (interviewed) recently visited Vienna and illuminated selected walls and monuments with some of his drawings. The Danish artist has been in the Austrian capital immersed in the quartier21 artist-in-residence program and appears to be keeping busy before heading back home for various other projects and shows scheduled for the rest of the year. More photos after the jump…

Openings: Armsrock – “Nocturne On A Drainpipe Flute” (Copenhagen)

Armsrock (interviewed) recently opened up a show in Copenhagen at the Wonderland Art Space entitled Nocturne On A Drainpipe Flute. No stranger to the art of projection as the Danish artist has participated in multiple light projects, this show features 210 drawings on 7 different looping projectors including many of the “images of unrest” that we love.

Armsrock’s Residency at Print Workshop (Hjoerring)

Always one to expand his horizons, Danish artist Armsrock (interviewed) recently completed a residency at a print workshop in Hjoerring.  We last saw his work at a show in London in June, but perhaps he will be using some new techniques he learned in his December solo “Nocturne On A Drainpipe Flute” at Wonderland Art Space in Copenhagen. More pics after the jump…

Set-up: Swoon – “Small Acts of Resistance” group show @ Black Rat Projects

Hot on the heels of the recent opening of her Fata Morgana solo show at Galerie L.J. in Paris, Swoon (interviewed) made a trip to London last week. AM had the pleasure of spending some time with the artist over a couple of days while she prepared a site-specific installation at Black Rat Projects for Small Acts of Resistance, a group show that will also feature works by Peter Kennard, Dotmasters, Matt Small (interviewed), Know Hope, and Armsrock (interviewed). The exhibition’s title references the recently-published book […]

Showing: Armsrock – “Drawn Towards The Present” @ Signal Gallery

Danish artist Armsrock (interviewed) opened his solo show “Drawn Towards The Present” with London’s Signal Gallery last week. Ever willing to push the boundaries and try out something new, Armsrock filled the gallery with huge charcoal pieces on rice paper, suspended around the gallery with thin wire trace. The work is viewable from either front or rear due to the delicacy and translucency of the paper – the pieces nearest to the window being especially effective as you can observe the world going by through […]
