Basel Week Miami ’13 : Tracey Emin – “Angel Without You” @ MOCA (Miami)

We made sure to stop by the Miami Museum of Contemporary Art while in town for Art Basel Week to take in an impressive collection of works from Tracey Emin. Entitled Angel Without You, the exhibition includes the Why I Never Became a Dancer video purchased in 1998 by the MOCA, the first American museum to acquire work from the UK-based artist. Also included is a wide selection of the neon works she has become famous for including a large piece created for the courtyard that inspires the exhibition’s title. Take a look at […]

Basel Week Miami ’13: Untitled Art Fair

Yesterday, we visited one of the satellite fairs for Art Basel Week in Miami – the Untitled Art Fair. In its second year, the event expanded to include 90 galleries and not-for-profit spaces from 19 different countries. Instead of working with a selection committee, the fair uses a curatorial approach trusting the New York-based Omar Lopez-Chahoud to select participants to the invite-only showing. Take a look at some photos below… Discuss Art Basel Week Miami here.

Basel Week Miami ’13 / Studio Visits: Faile & Bast – “Deluxx Fluxx”

AM recently paid a visit to Faile’s Brooklyn hideout to take a closer look at their collaborative project with Bast – a nostalgic arcade-based exhibition entitled Deluxx Fluxx. Set to open tonight in South Beach (1604 Washington Blvd.), with sponsorship by Perrier, this marks version 3.0 for this mind blowing showcase of old school arcade games, foosball, and now they’ve added specially crafted pinball machines to bring back the sensory addictions of the 70s & 80s. (Check out version 1.0 in London & version 2.0 in NYC) […]
